Shorts Group tackles large, three building demolition job in Bracknell
November 2007
As an outdoor company, Shorts Group is a regional leader in the demolition business. From their headquarters in Ascot, Berkshire, Shorts Group provides a wide range of demolition services all across the southeast.

No stranger to large demolition projects, Shorts Group won a contract for demolition work to be undertaken in late spring and early summer of this year. The project involved ‘stripping out’ two multi-storey office buildings and the complete demolition of an adjacent third building in Bracknell. (Stripping out entails removing the entire mechanical and electrical infrastructure, removing windows and window frames, leaving only the core concrete structure. Stripping out is often done when buildings are to receive a complete refurbishment.) The building that was demolished was removed to make room for a new Travel Lodge.
Adrian Joy, Demolition Manager for Shorts Group, described the project:
“This was a great project for us. We really like the commercial development projects as they allow us to demonstrate the full range of demolition services. As a company, we have a great deal of experience with bigger work sites and we welcome the opportunity to show our customers that Shorts Group really does stand for quality of service and value for money.”
Some of Shorts Group’s other demolition work includes the destruction and removal of the old Court House in Windsor and its current project, stripping out the office building that previously served as Symantec’s UK headquarters in Maidenhead.
